Welcome to Writing into the Black.
This is the leather-bound journal of an old man with a new pursuit of writing and distilling meaning from life. It is not an itemization of the mud crawled through, but a chronicle of the passage between here and the horizon.
We explore the anatomy of storytelling and the philosophies that give it breath. We dissect genres from Hard Science Fiction and Cosmic Horror to the classics of literature.
We listen to the past, wrestle with the context of our present, and grasp at the future.
This is where we write into the Black.
About the Author
I’m Seumas Froemke. A full-time writer, wrestler, and Oregon native. I was an engineer at Oracle for twenty years and walked away for a commitment to writing.
The reckoning that led me to writing is in my manifesto. Where I came from, the muck and the shit I crawled through, and where I’m going.
I’m rebuilding a life one word at a time, writing from a converted Cold War communications bunker that admirably keeps one darkness out and another in.
